NY Sea Grant: Working with Boaters for 30 years

As a strong supporter of ESMTC and the BIA in particular, Dave White of New York Sea Grant has collaborated with marine interests here for 30 years.

Dave is widely known among state boating circles, and is a strong supporter of ESMTA, saying it has evolved from a “Mom & Pop” operation many years ago to “a true industry leader as advocates of boating as a great leisure activity, and leading the way on good and safe boating.”

Established in 1966, the National Sea Grant College Program promotes the informed stewardship of coastal resources in 33 joint federal and state university-based programs in every U.S. coastal state (including the Great Lakes) and Puerto Rico.

New York Sea Grant, one of the largest of the state Sea Grant programs, is a cooperative program of the State University of New York (SUNY) and Cornell University, with administrative offices at Stony Brook University, extension administration at Cornell University in Ithaca, and extension specialists located in Stony Brook, Kingston, Oswego, Newark, Buffalo and New York City. Dave is New York Sea Grant's Recreation and Tourism Specialist and Associate Director, Great Lakes Research Consortium.  He has been with Sea Grant since 1984, and is located at SUNY Oswego.
